Students take one subject from each of the six groups each year except in grade ten, when they take a course from groups 1 - 5 only. In grades 11 and 12, they choose to take three at higher level and three at standard level.

Typically, for PHUHS IB students,
Group 1 = English

Group 2 = French or Spanish

Group 3 = U.S. History Honors; World History Honors; History of the Americas (HL); AP European History/Contemporary History (SL)

Group 4 = Biology; Chemistry; Physics

Group 5 = Algebra II H (9th grade);

Geometry/Trigonometry OR Pre-Calculus(10th); 

AP Statistics (SL) OR AP Calculus AB OR
AP Calculus BC (11th grade);

Math Analysis (SL) OR Analytic Geometry (SL) OR
Calculus IB (HL)
